Alley

This past weekend was a tough one here. While I was on the way to VA for the Cirque, Alley suddenly became quite ill and Lisa was forced to have her put to sleep. She was a great shop companion and friend for many years and she'll be missed greatly.

  2. Sincere condolences, I've come to know the cat over the last year or so. Will be missed by all I'm sure.

  3. Thanks for the kind words.

It's hard to imagine these last 13 years or so without Alley. From the day I met her as a stray outside the Serotta factory to her last, she was with me through some of the best years of my life.

  4. I went through something similar last fall, and in fact our cat was put to sleep (on my birthday) a week after you and I met to discuss my bike, after what we thought was a brief illness (although she actually had had a tumor). Just as with the inspector, our cat survived several moves, including a half way across country, with stops for "walks" at the Illinois oases. We now have two rescue cats that have the requisite cat quirks (and inspection abilities). Hope the inspector in training can fill the void.

  5. Thanks for the nice note Caitlin. The good news is that as of Wed. we have 2 new junior inspectors at Ellis Cycles. Lisa had been scanning the local shelters and found a cute kitten named Chuckles. We decided to adopt both him and his roommate Marshall (orange cat!), since they seemed to get along so well. They're getting acclimated now, and we're hoping the introductions with Woody go well.

    I'll post pictures soon! Really!

  6. Dave,

Sorry to hear of your loss. I to know what you are going through. I just loss my cat Spaz who was 16 that has been with me since he was 3 weeks old. There is no replacing that kind of friendship. Remember all the good times. Take care, Wil

  7. Dave as a pet lover I'm very sorry to hear of your loss. The best advice I ever received about the loss of a pet is that you are then able to save and love another animal.
