Powder layering will undoubtedly need the use of a burner to treat the powder finish. You will need a range that can sustain 450 degrees and is big enough to put your powder-coated items within.
Levi Brydehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05065640740736174282noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8820430141970983578.post-46328541015862336642012-02-18T14:27:01.135-06:002012-02-18T14:27:01.135-06:00To me the headbadge would be one more thing that r...To me the headbadge would be one more thing that rust could get trapped behind. I like the clean look of the painted on headbadge. As an aside, I just got the bike back from the shop today and the owner said he couldn't believe how good the paint was after that many miles (now 6,000). (It does have two chips, actually, which I plan to correct this spring with touch up.gobuckyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11253538811778981017noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8820430141970983578.post-53939611989835648992012-02-15T12:41:31.675-06:002012-02-15T12:41:31.675-06:00I thought everyone knew those snappy head badges g...I thought everyone knew those snappy head badges give you and extra 1.86 mph in a bunch sprint (they do, right?).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8820430141970983578.post-50468132349684764842012-02-15T01:30:33.412-06:002012-02-15T01:30:33.412-06:00I vote no headbadge. In some cases the aesthetic of the badge is completely at odds with the aesthetic of the frame.Mick Peel https://www.blogger.com/profile/13650517412268130776noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8820430141970983578.post-14818294380091422252012-02-14T22:34:00.358-06:002012-02-14T22:34:00.358-06:00I'll take functional details over headtube jew...I'll take functional details over headtube jewelry any day! Hell, that dropout masking alone is enough to prove you know what makes an Ellis an Ellis, just keep building them your way (especially a MTB for me when I can finally afford one). It my be good business to charge one hundred dollars for a piece of laser-cut sheet metal, though.AteMrYeatshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02570239965572930246noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8820430141970983578.post-32182931928912635242012-02-14T20:09:34.288-06:002012-02-14T20:09:34.288-06:00Funny you wrote this. So this past year he orders a frame from a guy he knows that just started building frames. My friend gets the first frame this guy has ever built. It's awful! But it has a really cool head badge that some vaguely famous artist designed. I've heard my friend tell the story of his head badge about 20 times now. He's really proud of that head badge.

I'm really proud of my Ellis and I never have to say a word. My Ellis talks volumes all by itself.Doughttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09090802854306112252noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8820430141970983578.post-66273036952695606292012-02-14T17:12:28.066-06:002012-02-14T17:12:28.066-06:00I vote head badge.I vote head badge.matthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14145975967614557051noreply@blogger.com
